Dance Suite from Liliʻu
Join us for the premiere of the Dance Suite from Liliʻu as part of An Evening of Music, Dance, and Poetry at TATOU FEST—an international cultural gathering created for and by Pacific Islanders. The performances will take place in Judson Memorial Church, New York City.

Merwin Conservancy Presents: Liliʻu Libretto Reading and Talk with Leilehua Lanzilotti
The MERWIN CONSERVANCY Presents A Talk with LEILEHUA LANZILOTTI In The Green Room Series, Washington Place, Honolulu, HI
A finalist for the 2022 Pulitzer Prize in Music, Lanzilotti will speak about Lili`u, a new opera celebrating the legacy of the last Queen of Hawai`i. Set in 1895, when Queen Lili`uokalani was imprisoned for almost a year in`Iolani Palace, Lili`u tells the story of the Queen’s life at a time of great upheaval. Lanzilotti will share excerpts from her libretto, sourced entirely from the writings of Lili`uokalani—including her newly published bilingual diaries, historical research, and in particular, the seven prison songs.
General admission tickets are $25 (plus applicable fees). Student tickets are $10 (plus applicable fees).
